1970's Fender F-45 - Parlor Sized Concert Folk Acoustic - Made in Japan - Pro Set Up
1970's Fender F-45 – Ultra-Rare Early Japanese-Made Golden-Era Dreadnought in Great Shape
Professionally Set Up
Comes with Original Hard Case
The Concert size, wide neck, folk guitar with “silk & steel” compound strings. Outstanding rich sound and very even scale. The top is of clear finish Spruce. Two piece Mahogany back with inlaid centre stripe. Mahogany sides. Six piece dark binding with pin type bridge. Neck of Mahogany with Rosewood fingerboard and adjustable truss rod. Classic style head. 19 frets; 24¾ inch scale. Size: 38½ inches long, 14 3/8 inches wide, 4 3/8 inches deep.
This mid 70's example is finished in rich natural gloss with a perfectly book-matched solid spruce top that has remained vibrant over the last 51 years. Laminated flamed mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, rosewood board and bridge, and that iconic classical style headstock with block “Fender” logo. The tone is pure vintage Fender magic: huge, open, and woody with a crisp, bell-like high end and a warm, thumping low end that rivals pre-war Martins for volume and projection. Strum it hard and it roars; fingerpick and every note rings clear and balanced. This is the sound of early 70s folk-rock in a box.
**Playability:** Fresh pro setup – action is silky low with zero buzz, brand-new bone nut and saddle, neck is dead straight, frets polished and showing almost no wear. It plays like butter from cowboy chords to up-the-neck leads.
**Condition:** Excellent all-original vintage – easily one of the cleanest early Japanese F-45s on the planet. Only a handful of tiny dings, a couple of light surface scratches, and the faintest, even discoloration line along the center top seam (super common on these spruce tops and barely visible unless you’re looking for it under stage lights). Back and sides are very clean. No cracks, no repairs, no issues. The tuners turn smoothly, binding is tight.
**Key Specs:**
