Feast your eyes on this 1984 Greco JS55 John Sykes Model Les Paul – a Japanese-crafted masterpiece inspired by the legendary John Sykes, the guitar hero who electrified the world with Whitesnake’s chart-topping 1987 album and his blistering work with Thin Lizzy and Blue Murder. Built by the fine luthiers of the famous (FujiGen) plant with a lightweight mahogany body and sleek mahogany neck this guitar can go from gorgeous, thick cleans to nitro-fueled metal mayhem with the turn of a knob. It has a two piece solid maple top. The three piece maple neck features a deep, rich chocolate rosewood fretboard with a 10" radius that works well for chording, fast runs, and bluesy bends and plays as beautifully as it looks. The brass nut keeps the sustain and snap in every hot lick bright and tight and Kahler bridge brings real deal performance to the proceedings. Two overwound PAF style "Screamin" Humbucking pickups that are vintage voiced but have extra winds on the coils for extra sizzle and slash. The hardware is all original with a brilliant chrome finish and all components operate smoothly and to their full capacity. The headstock is beautifully rendered with the trademark open book carve and is adorned with a gorgeously executed inlay. Plugged in this beast is lean and savage and 100% down to hard rocking business. We ran the JS through the paces on a moderately cranked 50w JCM 800 and the results were exciting to say the least. The tone is cutting and in full bloom when pushed yet cleans up nicely and with great detail when rolled back. This has to be one of the nicest LP Customs we have had roll through the shop and it's guaranteed to delight. Whether your bag is classic rock, jazz, Blues or the aforementioned hot metal this Les Paul can deliver all and is bound to make the cut in your hard rock stable.
