Looking for that unmistakable Rickenbacker chime that defined the 60s and still cuts through any mix today? This 1989 Rickenbacker 360/12 delivers it in spades — and right now it’s set up as a superb 6-string with all the tone, sustain, and playability you could dream of.
This is a genuine late-80s Ric — the golden era of modern Rickenbackers. Maple body with that classic semi-hollow construction, sleek double-cutaway shape, and the legendary “Cresting Wave” body binding. The rich Fireglo (deep red-to-orange sunburst) finish still pops beautifully under stage lights, showing off the natural wood grain and those signature black-and-white checkerboard binding.
Current Setup: Professionally converted to 6-string configuration for players who want the full Ric tone and comfort without the extra string tension. The guitar plays like a dream — smooth neck, excellent action, and that famous Rickenbacker “jangle” on steroids. Plug it into any clean amp and you’ll instantly hear why these are legendary.
Bonus: A non original Rickenbacker 12-string tailpiece is included in the case, so you can convert it back to a full 12-string anytime you want that orchestral, ringing Byrds/Beatles shimmer. (Extra holes and work would have to be done)
Condition: Honest moderate playwear (dings, dents, small chips & scratches) that gives it serious vintage character. It has a chip around one of the tuner hols on the face of the headstock and some honest lacquer wear on the fingerboard edges from real playing — nothing structural, no cracks, no major issues. The chrome hardware has that nice used patina, frets are still tall and clean, and the electronics (original Ric pickups, pots, and wiring) are quiet and strong. - Neck is perfectly straight with no truss-rod issues.
- Intonation is spot-on.
- Professionally set up with low action and new American-made strings.
- All frets are dressed, leveled, crowned (if needed), and all frets on all guitars are polished to shine like new with no divots.
Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy
We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:
- You must notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.
- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described.
We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.
Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.
We are a small family owned and run business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time, money and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop.
