🎸🔥 Japanese Flame & Vintage Violin Magic: 1990 Ibanez Artist AR300 🔥🎸
Prepare to be stopped in your tracks. This 1990 Ibanez Artist AR300 isn’t just another classic Japanese guitar — it rocks a killer flamed maple top under a deep, glowing Antique Violin finish that looks like liquid amber and fire. The figured maple dances with bold, 3D flame from every angle, framed by elegant binding, creating one of the most visually stunning tops you’ll find on an early-’90s Artist.
Pure Eye Candy Meets Serious Tone
Crafted in Japan by Iida Gakki, this double-cutaway masterpiece pairs a resonant mahogany body with that spectacular bound arched flamed maple top. The Antique Violin finish enhances every ripple and figure in the wood, giving it a rich, vintage violin-like depth that shifts and glows under light. Gold hardware, Gibraltar II bridge, Quik Change II tailpiece, and Sure Grip II knobs complete the high-end look.
The set-in three-piece maple neck feels solid and fast, paired with a bound ebony fingerboard, block inlays, and 22 medium frets on a comfortable 25.5” scale. This is classic Artist series excellence — the Japanese answer to a premium dual-cut Les Paul-style instrument.
Versatile Vintage DiMarzio Firepower
Loaded with a pair of highly regarded DiMarzio PAF Pro humbuckers, this AR300 delivers warm, articulate, singing tones with outstanding sustain and clarity. Independent volume and tone controls with a 3-way toggle give you traditional dual-humbucker flexibility, while push/pull coil-splits on both tone knobs unlock bright, snappy single-coil voices. From thick blues and classic rock to smooth jazz and aggressive leads, it covers serious ground with authority.
Very Good to Excellent Condition for Its Age
This 1990 example presents in very good to excellent condition for a 35+ year-old instrument. It shows a few light dings, dents, and scratches that are clearly visible in the photographs — honest, honest player wear that doesn’t distract from the stunning flamed top or overall beauty. The frets still have plenty of life, and everything functions perfectly.
Professionally Set Up & Ready to Inspire
It has been professionally set up and meticulously dialed in for optimal tone and playability. Action is smooth and comfortable, intonation is locked, and the neck is dialed just right so it plays effortlessly from the first note.
Includes
Thick padded gig bag for reliable protection.
If you’ve been hunting for a Japanese-made Artist with real visual drama, this is the one. That killer flamed maple top in Antique Violin is the kind of figure that turns heads and photographs beautifully — the kind of guitar that makes people stop and stare before you even plug it in.

Our Guarantee
We stand behind every guitar we sell. “Good enough” is never good enough. Every instrument is inspected, set up, and tested by multiple people immediately before shipping. We deliver the highest standard of quality and have built a reputation as a three-time NAMM Top 100 Dealer since 2009. The Dude Abides.
Neck & Setup - (unless otherwise noted)
- Neck is perfectly straight with no truss-rod issues.
- Intonation is spot-on.
- Professionally set up with low action and new American-made strings.
- All frets are dressed, leveled, crowned (if needed), and all frets on all guitars are polished to shine like new with no divots.
Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy
We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:
- You must
notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.
- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described. Please note there is a 10% restocking fee on guitars that have been purchased and paid for - being off the market for more than 24 hours that have not been shipped or picked up by the carrier. We perform a final set up and change strings put when an order is placed and paid for. NO EXCEPTIONS
We do our best to honestly describe and photograph every guitar and most of the noticeable imperfections. That said, we are human, if something very small can be overseen, if tiny marks, dings or super fine scratches (normal wear) bother you, please don't buy.
We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.
Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.
We are a small family owned and run business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time, money and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop. There is no post purchase haggling, returns without restocking fees or partial refunds. If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy. Plenty of large retailers offer free trials and can absorb shipping costs—we do not.
