🔥 1993 Fender Japan JM-66 Jazzmaster – A Pure Kurt Cobain-Era Grunge Weapon with Soul 🔥
This isn’t some pristine collector’s dust-catcher. This is a battle-hardened 1993 Fender Japan JM-66 that looks and sounds like it survived the entire ‘90s alternative explosion.
Finished in that iconic Lake Placid Blue, this offset beauty wears its history proudly. Heavy playwear — dings, chips, scratches, and honest road rash — covers the body in all the right places. These aren’t flaws. They’re badges of honor. This guitar has been played. It’s been slammed, swung, and shredded through countless gigs, rehearsals, and late-night jams. That worn-in vibe gives it insane mojo and character that no new guitar could ever match. It feels like an instrument that was there when grunge took over the world.
Made in Japan during the golden era of Fender’s Fujigen plant, the JM-66 is legendary for its exceptional craftsmanship. Tight joints, killer neck profile, buttery playability, and hardware that’s built to last. These Japanese reissues from the early ‘90s are widely regarded as some of the best Fenders ever produced outside of the USA — period. Vintage-correct ‘66 Jazzmaster specs with modern reliability.
Freshly setup and ready to destroy:
• Professionally dialed in for optimal action, intonation, and playability
• Smooth, responsive neck that invites you to play for hours
• That classic Jazzmaster circuitry and pickups deliver everything from chimey cleans to snarling, fuzzy leads with the flick of a switch
Tone & Genres?
This thing was born for the ‘90s. Channel raw grunge, alternative, indie, shoegaze, punk, and noise rock like Cobain, J Mascis, and the entire Seattle scene. Bright, jangly rhythms with sparkling highs, thick midrange punch, and that signature offset twang and sustain. Crank it through a dirty amp and it howls with attitude. Roll back the volume and it cleans up with moody, atmospheric sparkle perfect for dream pop or atmospheric indie. Versatile enough for studio work or absolute stage chaos.
If you want a guitar that looks brand new and smells like a showroom, this isn’t it.
If you want a soulful, road-worn, tone-rich Jazzmaster with genuine ‘90s DNA, battle scars that tell stories, and the kind of feel and sound that only comes from real playing — this JM-66 is calling your name.
Serious players know: the best instruments aren’t perfect. They’re lived in.

Neck & Setup - (unless otherwise noted)
- Neck is perfectly straight with no truss-rod issues.
- Intonation is spot-on.
- Professionally set up with low action and new American-made strings.
- All frets are dressed, leveled, crowned (if needed), and all frets on all guitars are polished to shine like new with no divots.
Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy
We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:
- You must notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.
- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described.
We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.
Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.
We are a small family owned and run business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time, money and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop. There is no post purchase haggling, returns without restocking fees or partial refunds. If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy. Plenty of large retailers offer free trials and can absorb shipping costs—we do not.
