This KILLER Edwards LP Custom John Sykes Model by the fine folks at ESP will scratch just about any itch you have for sweet Blues tones and incendiary, hard rocking mayhem. Edwards knocks it out of the park with their take on the timeless, iconic classic and adds a few twists to make every performance for any stylistic journey fully realized. The recipe starts with a hard rock maple top sitting on top of a beautifully resonant and very lightweight mahogany body. Next, they add a smooth and sensuously carved set mahogany neck with a classic LP Custom profile, not too big neither too slim, in fact just right. The fingerboard is a lovely piece of select ebony inlaid with pearloid block and bound in white with 22 medium jumbo frets, perfectly crowned and polished. Edwards takes it to the next level with classic gold hardware featuring a Gotoh vintage style Tune-O-Matic bridge and a set of Gotoh SG-301-04 tuning machines. Electronically this instrument is loaded for bear with a pair of Seymour Duncan pickups featuring a SH-6N and SH-6B respectively, wired with 2 volume controls, 2 tone controls and a three-way selector toggle. We plugged this beast into our in house '66 Super Reverb and the fireworks were on full display. Hot Blues tones were easily extracted and rolling back the volume on the axe we were greeted with sweet tones and blossoming articulation. Cranked it delivered the full monty and we all were really feeling the surge and power. This piece is very nice, player friendly condition with brand new medium jumbo frets and moderate playwear, including a few small dings, and scratches on the back. It has no breaks or repairs and is structurally sound and perfect. An authentic 2004 Edwards John Sykes E-LP-CTM Les Paul Custom is a rare, top quality instrument that was produced exclusively for the Japanese domestic market. The original stock configuration used Seymour Duncan pickups, unlike the newer models with Edwards Legacy pickups.

Based on a documented vintage model from the early 2000s, this era's Sykes Les Paul Custom had the following characteristics:
