One of the all-time great guitars, the iconic Gibson SG,  has been made better than ever. This amazing Guitar is a Gibson SG Standard 61 with a Maestro Vibrola. The SG originally launched in 1961 as a temporary replacement for the single cutaway Les Paul. It SG gained a strong following with rock and blues players who were impressed by its innovative design. This guitar is special because it represents a great mix of early '60s vision with contemporary versatility and feel. It features an all Mahogany body finished in a gorgeous Vintage Cherry that is paired beautifully with a Mahogany neck and Rosewood fingerboard. It has a fast and comfortable slim taper neck profile, which enhances the rich tone. Those sought after Gibson tones come courtesy of a pair of ’57 Classic humbuckers. The unique sound is versatile, dynamic and offers crystal clear note definition. Equipped with a Maestro Vibrola, you get smooth vibrato and a classic Gibson aesthetic. It is a well kept specimen of timeless design. 
Cosmetically there is only a few minor surface scratches, a small chip, and a few small, scattered dings, dents and scuffs. The body was repaired by Jim Hamilton of Hamiltone Guitars. If you are unfamiliar, look him up and check out the guitar he made for SRV! These imperfections do not stand out and simply add to the vintage appeal of this killer SG.  It has that beautiful mahogany body with a deep, dark, chocolate brown fretboard boasting trapezoid inlays. All she needs now is a player worthy of her looks and sound!

 The light weight body gives it that special resonance we all look for, and even unplugged you can really hear her come to life. The SG Standard ‘61 returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played and loved -- shaping sound across generations and genres of music. In 1961, the Les Paul model was put on hiatus and an all new design evolved into what is today known as the SG or “solid guitar”. The Gibson SG Standard '61 retains the styling of the original featuring a slim taper mahogany neck and a bound rosewood fingerboard. The mahogany body features deeply sculpted body scarfing, a 5-ply teardrop pickguard and a 22nd-fret neck joint. The nickel plated hardware includes a classic Maestro Vibrola and keystone tuners. The pickups are '57 Classics that give it that added power and top end. Controls feature audio taper potentiometers.

(Unfinished Rosewood and Ebony boards get treated with Fret Doctor - a proprietary all natural oil that is the best on the market) It has brand new strings, the action was adjusted, the intonation is spot on and it plays excellent. All the electronics work flawlessly.

We recognize and accept a 7 day return policy as per Reverb guidelines, BUT intentions of the return must be communicated in writing within 3 day of receiving the guitar as indicated by the tracking. Unless the guitar is not as described, ORIGINAL & RETURN SHIPPING COSTS WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. There is a 10% Re-stocking fee for ALL guitars that are returned for ANY reason outside of damage from shipping or it arrives significantly not as described. Please note that we record demo videos to make sure our guitars go out exactly as we describe them with zero issues. We understand that feeling comfortable is vital to the purchase of a guitar/bass so in any case, additional measurements or in hand descriptions are available prior to purchase/shipping. Thats said, guitars travel a great distance some times and in transit things can happen. Also guitars acclimate to new environments and this can cause a need for a new set up or minor adjustment. It is acceptable and normal if there is for instance a tiny bit of buzzing or the need to adjust a truss rod.
