Made in Japan 70's or 80's

Pro Set Up w Perfect Frets/Action/Intonation

1970s Yamaha FG-300D – The Legendary Japanese Cannon in Near-Mint Time-Capsule Condition 🔥

This is THE one you’ve been hunting for years.

A genuine 1970s Yamaha FG-300D (Nippon Gakki “Label”), the dreadnought that started the entire Japanese vintage revolution. Built back when Yamaha was still trying to out-Martin Martin… and basically succeeded.

Specs that make collectors weak:

- Solid Sitka spruce top with that perfect golden-red 50-year patina

- Solid rosewood back & sides (yes, SOLID – not laminate like later ones)

- Three-piece mahogany/rosewood/mahogany neck – rock-solid stability

- Rosewood fretboard & bridge

- Classic Yamaha dot inlays in mother-of-pearl

- Black pickguard, multi-ring rosette, black/white purfling – pure 1970 vibe

Condition: Very clean for its age – this one was clearly loved and babied

- Zero cracks, zero repairs, zero issues

- Original frets in 95%+ life

- Neck is poker-straight, action is low and fast

- Original Yamaha hard case in excellent shape (latches work, handle intact)

The Sound:

Close your eyes and it’s a 1968 D-28 that grew up in Hamamatsu.

Massive, woody, and LOUD – the kind of volume that makes modern guitars blush. Deep, rumbling bass, sparkling highs, and that addictive Japanese “bloom” on every chord. Strum it hard and it roars; fingerpick it and it sings like a grand piano. Recording engineers and bluegrass pickers lose their minds over these for a reason.

These early solid-wood Red Label FG-300Ds are getting impossible to find in this condition. Most were played to death in the ’70s and ’80s. This one looks and sounds like it just walked out of 1973.
