In a world of iconic guitars and legendary guitar builders there is one electric guitar that rules the roost. The Fender Stratocaster is certainly the instrument that the guitar playing world would come to place upon the pedestal of greatness.
🔥 1992 Fender Japan Custom Edition ST54-85RV – The Holy Grail ’54 Strat Reissue That Plays Like Pure Lightning! 🔥
Limited-edition Japanese unicorn from the golden era — a true time-machine ’54 Strat that hits harder, sings sweeter, and feels more alive than anything rolling out of the factory today.
Own the Strat that doesn’t just sound vintage… it is vintage soul with modern playability — and it’s begging for your next riff.
This isn’t just another dusty reissue Strat. This is a genuine Japanese masterpiece from the golden era of Fender Japan — a limited-edition Custom Edition ST54-85RV built in circa 1992 that captures the soul of a 1954 Stratocaster like no other.
Finished in a breathtaking Vintage Natural NITRO Gloss Finish that lets the grain of the premium lightweight ash body shine through like warm honey under stage lights. The ash is feather-light yet resonant, giving you that unmistakable snap, chime, and woody depth that only the best ’50s-style bodies deliver. Every swirl and figure in the grain tells a story — this body was hand-selected for tone and beauty, and it shows. Yet there is more to the secret sauce recipe… it features American made vintage reissue pickups that deliver that unmistakeable vintage tone.
The neck is pure ‘54 magic: a deep Hard V profile that sits perfectly in your hand — substantial, comfortable, and instantly inspiring. It’s the kind of neck players chase for a reason: it locks into your palm, encourages expressive bends, and just feels alive. Frets are clean and smooth, the maple fingerboard has that perfect vintage radius, and the whole neck has that broken-in, played-for-years feel right from the first chord.
Best of all? It’s had a full professional setup that makes it an absolute dream to play. Action is silky low with zero buzz, intonation is laser-perfect across all 21 frets, and the tone just pours out — glassy cleans that sparkle like spring water, fat quacky rhythms, and screaming leads that sing with vintage authority. The pickups are period-correct and alive, delivering that classic Strat quack, chime, and bite with incredible dynamics and touch sensitivity.
And the condition? Near-mint for a 34-year-old guitar. No major dings, no cracks, no finish checking — just light honest wear that proves it was loved, not neglected. It looks, feels, and sounds like a time capsule straight from the early ‘90s Custom Shop, but with the legendary build quality and attention to detail that made Fender Japan the envy of the industry.
If you’re hunting for a Strat that looks like a million bucks, plays like a vintage prize, and delivers that pure, unfiltered ‘54 tone without the price tag or the worries… this is the one.
Serious tone chasers only. This limited Custom Edition ST54-85RV is ready for its next chapter — and it’s waiting for the player who will truly appreciate what it has to offer.

Our Guarantee
We stand behind every guitar we sell. “Good enough” is never good enough. Every instrument is inspected, set up, and tested by multiple people immediately before shipping. We deliver the highest standard of quality and have built a reputation as a three-time NAMM Top 100 Dealer since 2009. The Dude Abides.
Neck & Setup - (unless otherwise noted)
- Neck is perfectly straight with no truss-rod issues.
- Intonation is spot-on.
- Professionally set up with low action and new American-made strings.
- All frets are dressed, leveled, crowned (if needed), and all frets on all guitars are polished to shine like new with no divots.
Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy
We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:
- You must notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.
- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described.
We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.
Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.
We are a small business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop. There is no post purchase haggling or partial refunds. If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy. Plenty of large retailers offer free trials and can absorb shipping costs—we do not.
