🔥 Neo-Classical Shred Machine: Circa 1994 Fender Japan ST-72SC Scalloped Strat! 🔥

Meet your new ticket to lightning-fast runs, soaring harmonics, and that unmistakable Yngwie-inspired fury — this circa 1994 Fender Japan ST-72SC is essentially a Yngwie Malmsteen Signature Strat without the signature on the headstock or the DiMarzio pickups.

Built during the golden era of Fender Japan, this ST-72SC delivers the exact DNA that made the Malmsteen models legendary: a scalloped fretboard for effortless high-speed playing and deep vibrato expression.

Killer Vintage ’70s Vibes with Scalloped Performance

The guitar rocks a rich, classic vintage white finish that has aged beautifully. It features the signature ’70s-style large headstock, bullet truss rod, 3-bolt neck plate, and basswood body that gives it lively resonance and comfortable weight.

Condition: Very good player-grade vintage condition for a 30+ year old guitar. It shows a few honest dings, dents, and light scratches — all adding authentic character and road-worn soul without compromising structural integrity or playability. No major issues, no cracks, and everything remains tight and solid. This is a guitar that’s clearly been played and loved, but remains a strong, reliable performer.

Scalloped Fretboard = Shred Heaven

The standout feature is the scalloped maple fingerboard with 21 frets. This allows for ultra-low action, buttery-smooth bends, and insane note articulation that’s perfect for neoclassical shred, arpeggios, sweep picking, and expressive vibrato. The maple neck (comfortable C or oval profile typical of these models) combined with the scalloping makes fast playing feel almost effortless — exactly like the Yngwie models that inspired a generation of players.

Tone That Cuts & Shimmers

Loaded with original Fender Japan vintage-style single-coil pickups, this Strat delivers sparkling, bell-like cleans, punchy rhythms, and biting, articulate leads with excellent dynamics. It has that bright, snappy attack and singing sustain that slices through a band mix — perfect for everything from classic rock to metal, fusion, and beyond. Roll back the tone knob for smoother, rounded leads or crank it for maximum bite.

The synchronized tremolo is smooth and stable, letting you dive and flutter with confidence while staying in tune.

Why This Guitar Rules

•  Rare ’90s Fender Japan ST-72SC scalloped model — the “poor man’s Yngwie Strat” that actually plays like a superstar

•  Identical platform to the official Malmsteen signature (minus the name and hot pickups)

•  Scalloped fretboard for serious speed and expression

•  Solid vintage condition with battle scars that give it personality

•  Ready-to-shred setup potential with tons of life left in the frets

This is a true player’s guitar built in the era when Fender Japan was quietly making some of the best Strats on the planet. If you’ve ever wanted that Malmsteen magic on a realistic budget with real vintage mojo, this is your chance.

Our Guarantee

We stand behind every guitar we sell. “Good enough” is never good enough. Every instrument is inspected, set up, and tested by multiple people immediately before shipping. We deliver the highest standard of quality and have built a reputation as a three-time NAMM Top 100 Dealer since 2009. The Dude Abides.

Neck & Setup - (unless otherwise noted)

- Neck is perfectly straight with no truss-rod issues.

- Intonation is spot-on.

- Professionally set up with low action and new American-made strings.

- All frets are dressed, leveled, crowned (if needed), and all frets on all guitars are polished to shine like new with no divots.

Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy

We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:

- You must notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.

- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.

- A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described.

We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.

Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.

We are a small family owned and run business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time, money and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop. There is no post purchase haggling or partial refunds. If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy. Plenty of large retailers offer free trials and can absorb shipping costs—we do not.

Payment, Shipping & International Duties

- All items can be shipped internationally. Buyer is fully responsible for all import duties, taxes, and customs fees.

- We accept PayPal, PayPal Credit, Affirm, and other major payment methods.

- Most U.S. shipments are sent via UPS or FedEx with full insurance, tracking, and signature confirmation. All packages are professionally packed for maximum protection.
