🔥 Vintage Mojo Monster: 1980s/Early 90s Tokai Breezy Sound ATE Telecaster in Nitro Dark Metallic Blue! 🔥
This is the real deal — a Tokai Breezy Sound ATE Telecaster (ATE-70 or ATE-95 model, circa late 1980s to early 1990s) that has developed serious personality and killer vintage character over the decades.
Finished in a deep, stunning Nitro Dark Metallic Blue, this guitar looks and feels like a well-traveled rock ‘n’ roll survivor. The nitro lacquer has aged gracefully with tons of beautiful finish checking (that classic crackle pattern), along with small dings, dents, and light scratches. All of it adds up to pure, authentic mojo — the kind of wear that makes a guitar feel broken-in, loved, and ready to gig rather than sit on a shelf.
Timeless Tele Twang with Japanese Precision
Tokai’s Breezy Sound series earned a legendary reputation for building some of the best T-style guitars outside of Fender, often rivaling (and sometimes exceeding) period-correct American instruments in fit, finish, and tone. This ATE model nails that classic Tele vibe with superior Japanese craftsmanship from the golden era.
• Body: Premium ash (typical of these models) with that perfect Tele contour and resonant snap
• Neck: Maple with a comfortable profile that’s fast and inspiring
• Fingerboard: Rosewood with smooth, well-played-in feel and plenty of fret life remaining
• Pickups: Classic Tokai single-coils delivering sparkling bridge bite, rich neck warmth, and that signature Tele “quack” in the middle position
• Hardware: Vintage-style bridge, tuners, and controls that have settled in beautifully over time
The nitro finish not only looks incredible with its dark metallic blue hue shifting under the lights, but it also contributes to the lively, airy resonance these older Tokais are loved for.
A Player’s Guitar Through and Through
This Tele has that sweet spot of vintage soul and reliable playability. The checking and light playwear give it a comfortable, broken-in feel right from the first strum — no need to “baby” it. It rings with authentic Tele chime, twang, and punch that cuts through any mix, making it perfect for country, blues, rock, indie, roots, and everything in between.
Whether you’re chasing glassy cleans, spanky rhythms, or gritty overdriven leads, this guitar delivers with dynamics and sustain that only come with real age and nitro lacquer.
Why This Tokai Stands Out
• Rare early Breezy Sound ATE model from Tokai’s golden Japanese era
• Gorgeous Nitro Dark Metallic Blue finish with heavy checking and honest battle scars = maximum mojo
• Authentic vintage vibe with solid build quality and tone that punches way above its weight
• A true player’s instrument that looks, feels, and sounds like it’s got stories to tell
If you’ve been hunting for a vintage-inspired Tele that’s already earned its stripes and developed that unbeatable aged character, this is it. This guitar doesn’t just sit pretty — it begs to be played hard and often.

Our Guarantee
We stand behind every guitar we sell. “Good enough” is never good enough. Every instrument is inspected, set up, and tested by multiple people immediately before shipping. Neck & Setup - (unless otherwise noted)
- Neck is perfectly straight with no truss-rod issues.
- Intonation is spot-on.
- Professionally set up with low action and new American-made strings.
- All frets are dressed, leveled, crowned (if needed), and all frets on all guitars are polished to shine like new with no divots.
Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy
We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:
- You must notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.
- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described.
We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.
Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.
We are a small family owned and run business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time, money and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop. There is no post purchase haggling or partial refunds. If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy. Plenty of large retailers offer free trials and can absorb shipping costs—we do not.
