🔥 Vintage Groove Machine Ready to Rumble! 1990 Fender Japan JB-62 ’62 Jazz Bass – Three-Tone Sunburst 🔥
Looking for that classic 1962 Jazz Bass tone with flawless playability and authentic vintage vibe—without the vintage price tag? This Made-in-Japan 1990 Fender JB-62 delivers the goods in spades.
This beauty rocks a stunning three-tone sunburst finish over its premium alder body, with that iconic warm-to-dark gradient that looks killer under stage lights. The slim, fast ’60s-style C-shaped maple neck paired with a rich rosewood slab fingerboard feels like butter—effortless playability from the nut to the highest fret. Dual vintage-style single-coil Jazz Bass pickups serve up that signature growl: punchy mids, bright articulate highs, and a fat, singing low end that cuts through the mix whether you’re laying down funk grooves, slapping, popping, or holding down the pocket in rock, blues, or jazz.
Condition highlights:
• Very good player-grade condition — battle-ready and gig-worthy
• Nice character-giving gouge on the bottom edge, an area of dings on the front (see pics) plus a few light nicks and scratches that add honest vintage mojo without compromising structural integrity
• No issues, all mojo — this bass has clearly been loved and played
• Professionally set up and meticulously dialed in for optimal tone, intonation, action, and playability right out of the case. It sings, it sustains, and it feels alive in your hands.
These early ’90s Fender Japan reissues are legendary for their build quality, attention to detail, and how closely they nail the original ’62 vibe — often rivaling or surpassing many modern American models in feel and tone. The hardware is solid, tuning is rock-steady, and everything about this instrument just feels right. FujiGen knocked it out of the park with this one.
Whether you’re a seasoned bassist chasing that timeless Jazz Bass thump or a player stepping up to a true classic reissue, this JB-62 is a tone monster that’s been road-tested and refined for maximum fun and musical inspiration.
“Plays like a dream, sounds like history.”
Grab it before the next bassist does. 🎸💥

Neck & Setup - (unless otherwise noted)
- Neck is perfectly straight with no truss-rod issues.
- Intonation is spot-on.
- Professionally set up with low action and new American-made strings.
- All frets are dressed, leveled, crowned (if needed), and all frets on all guitars are polished to shine like new with no divots.
Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy
We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:
- You must notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.
- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described.
We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.
Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.
We are a small business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop. There is no post purchase haggling or partial refunds. If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy. Plenty of large retailers offer free trials and can absorb shipping costs—we do not.
