🔥Fender Japan Limited Edition JB62/QT “Aqua Blue Burst” Quilt-Top Jazz Bass – Rare Mojo thump Machine 🔥
This is not your average Jazz Bass. This is a scarce mid-2000s Fender Japan Factory Special Run that blends authentic 1962 reissue DNA with eye-catching boutique flair
The top is the showstopper. A genuine quilted maple veneer bursts in vivid Aqua Blue, the figure dancing under the translucent finish with deep 3D movement that shifts in the light. The face is very clean — glassy, vibrant, and almost untouched. The back is equally clean overall, with only a few small scratches. Tons of real wear and tear lives where it should: along the edges of the body. You’ll find multiple honest dings, chips, and scratches that give it street credibility without looking beaten up. It presents sharp, fresh, and ready to turn heads.
The Hybrid That Made It Special
Fender Japan took the classic 1962 Jazz Bass blueprint and dressed it up for the domestic market. The result is a true hybrid: vintage foundation meets modern visual luxury. Built by Dyna Gakki as a limited FSR for major Japanese retailers, these rarely left Japan — which is why clean examples like this command serious attention on the global market.
Tonewoods & Construction
• Body: Premium Japanese Sen (Japanese Ash) with a figured quilted maple top veneer. Fender Japan favored Sen on these special runs specifically because its aggressive, wide grain patterns look absolutely stunning under translucent Aqua Blue Burst finishes — the grain pops and dances in the light in a way basswood never could.
• Neck: Maple with Fender Japan’s comfortable “Oval Type” (slim modern-C) profile.
• Fretboard: Rosewood slab, authentic 7.25” radius, 20 medium-jumbo “Wide Oval” frets.
• Nut width: Classic ultra-slim 38 mm 1962 spacing.
• Hardware: Vintage-style clover tuners and 4-saddle vintage bridge.
• Pickguard: 3-ply white pearloid that perfectly frames the Aqua Blue Burst.
• Pickups: Two Japanese-wound JB single-coils — pure vintage-voiced passive tone.
The Sound & Feel
Expect that classic Jazz Bass “midrange growl” and the iconic bridge-pickup “burp.” The Sen body brings extra snap, clarity, and resonant attack that lets those Japanese-wound single-coils speak with authority. Crisp, punchy, and full of lively character — it cuts cleanly through any live mix with plenty of definition and bounce.
Playability is outstanding. The slender 1962 nut width combined with the slightly wider modern frets makes it faster and more comfortable than a strict vintage reissue. The neck feels fast and familiar under the hand, and the whole instrument is balanced and ready for long sessions.

Our Guarantee
We stand behind every guitar we sell. “Good enough” is never good enough. Every instrument is inspected, set up, and tested by multiple people immediately before shipping. We deliver the highest standard of quality and have built a reputation as a three-time NAMM Top 100 Dealer since 2009. The Dude Abides.
Neck & Setup - (unless otherwise noted)
- Neck is perfectly straight with no truss-rod issues.
- Intonation is spot-on.
- Professionally set up with low action and new American-made strings.
- All frets are dressed, leveled, crowned (if needed), and all frets on all guitars are polished to shine like new with no divots.
Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy
We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:
- You must
notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.
- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described. Please note there is a 10% restocking fee on guitar orders that have been purchased and paid for - that have been off the market for 24 hours or more, even if they have not been shipped or picked up by the carrier. We perform a final set up and change strings put when an order is placed and paid for. NO EXCEPTIONS
We do our best to honestly describe and photograph every guitar and most of the noticeable imperfections. That said, we are human, if something very small can be overseen, if tiny marks, dings or super fine scratches (normal wear) bother you, please don't buy.
We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.
Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.
We are a small family owned and run business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time, money and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop. There is no post purchase haggling, returns without restocking fees or partial refunds. If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy. Plenty of large retailers offer free trials and can absorb shipping costs—we do not.
